R3 @ Starbucks Sept. 24, 2009

The first R3 Event on Sept. 24, 2009 was AMAZING! If you weren't there, I can't even lie...you missed out. The performances were tight, the vibe was so chill, and Starbucks wants us back! At the start of it people walked in as strangers but by the end of it a few unfamiliar faces turned into connections over coffee, music/spoken word, and swaying to the likes of “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz.

Not only that we raised a good amount through our tickets sales and donations for Free the Children, a charitable organization empowering students to make a difference in the lives of others across the globe. How cool is that to affect someone else just by sipping coffee and rockin to the musical swagger of up and coming artists? SPECIAL THANKS to Alfred Lam + band, Ris Somethingnewisafoot, and Shadrae Morris for stepping in to perform last minute.  You added a special touch to the night through your charisma, talent, and passion. To our student artists Josh, Cavina, Simon, Allie, Joseph, Makeda, and Jonelle, you guys are ridiculously talented and it was a pleasure to be apart of your journey as rising stars. And to the staff at Starbucks (3740 Midland Ave.) you were so courteous and accommodating! Everyone YOU MUST go buy coffee and other delightful treats from them! Tell them R3 sent you!!

This is the first of many R3 Eventz! So... if you missed out this time make sure you are first in line for the next one...cause it’s gonna be even that much more AMAZING!
